Method
Peel prawns, wash 3-4 times in running water, add ½ teaspoon turmeric, ½ teaspoon
chilli powder and ½ teaspoon salt and leave for 5-10 mins. Finely chop
onions, cut cauliflower into small florets and wash, then add ½ teaspoon
of turmeric and ½ teaspoon of salt.
Use a medium frying pan. Pour in ½ cup of oil and heat this up.
First fry cauliflower and remove from oil after 3 mins.
Add the onion seeds and fresh onions and fry until brown. Add the prawns
and fry until the mixture is golden brown. In a separate bowl, make up masala
mix with jeera, turmeric and salt. Add some water and mix. Place this into
a frying pan.
Fry on medium heat for 3-5 mins until the oil obviously separates. Put
in 1½ cups of water and bring to the boil. When this has reached
boiling point, add in the already fried cauliflower and boil until gravy
thickens.
This is best served with plain basmati rice.
